The Brief
Pure Executive was recommended to support Barnes in appointing its first ever non-family Board Chair—an important and sensitive appointment as the company transitioned leadership after more than 45 years. The successful candidate needed deep industry knowledge, regional insight, and alignment with Barnes’ values and culture, with the ability to support growth and succession planning for a business with turnover exceeding £100 million.

Our Approach
We partnered closely with the Barnes family and executive team to shape a thoughtful, values-led search. Drawing on our extensive network—including non-executive contacts—we identified candidates who could complement the business’ ethos.
