Thurne is a global supplier of high-quality industrial meat slicing systems with design and manufacturing carried out in the UK. It has been part of the Middleby Corporation since 2015 which brings strengths and synergies to complimentary technologies. The business is successful, profitable, and recognised for its innovation including many industry firsts for technology development. 
 
The role of Vice President Operations has been created to develop, improve, and implement both strategic and operational plans to meet growth aspirations. Thurne is committed to new product development and entering new markets and believe they can grow from $30m to $50m over the next 3-5 years.  Highly profitable they continually invest in the development of high specification, bespoke, and industry leading machines.  You will manage and drive performance across production, procurement, logistics, HSE, and contract engineering teams.
 
Key Responsibilities
 


  • Lead, inspire, and develop your teams to deliver industry leading performance and sustainable growth. 
  • Play a key role in developing and executing strategies for both revenue and margin growth.
  • Develop and introduce dashboard reporting to give greater visibility to operational performance.
  • Apply world class tools and techniques, which drive positive change towards ‘A Path to Lean’ and operational excellence.
  • Ensure all aspects of HSE, ISO standards, processes, and systems are continually improved and developed.
  • Identify, implement, and maintain an effective ERP system.
 
The successful candidate will have operated in a similar role and have a track record leading high performing teams in delivering production and operational excellence. You will have strong commercial acumen and be able to demonstrate where you have contributed to, and successfully executed strategies. You must have experience of capital goods or bespoke manufacturing and ideally you will have a technical, design led background, but this is not essential if you can demonstrate where you have successfully managed across this area. You will be passionate about continuous improvement and world class manufacturing and be comfortable using systems and technology to report results and evidence improvements.
