Championing enterprise. Enabling impact. Guiding Sustainable growth.
Headquartered at our Future Business Centre in Cambridge, with further Business Centres in Peterborough, and soon to be Leeds, bases in Nottingham and London and ambitious plans for further expansion – Allia Group is seeking a new Non-Executive Chair to lead the Board through the next phase of the organisation's growth.
Purpose-led and commercially minded, Allia combines enterprise with social impact through three complementary businesses. Allia C&C, its FCA-regulated capital markets and structured finance business, and Allia Workspace, providing affordable flexible workspace for innovative businesses driving positive social and environmental impact, generating the income that enables Allia Impact to catalyse the growth of mission-led businesses from start to scale. Together, they create a sustainable model that helps businesses, entrepreneurs and communities thrive.
This is an opportunity for an accomplished Chair, or an experienced Non-Executive Director ready to step into their first Chair role, who brings a strong commercially focused executive career, exceptional judgement and the gravitas to lead an experienced Board through the next stage of Allia's growth.
As Chair, you will foster a culture of trust, constructive challenge and collective accountability, ensuring Board discussions are purposeful, inclusive and lead to clear, well-informed decisions.
You will establish a strong and effective partnership with the Group CEO, providing strategic counsel and independent perspective. You will ensure the Board maintains rigorous oversight of governance, risk and regulatory compliance, supporting the executive team to deliver ambitious growth while safeguarding Allia's long-term purpose and reputation.
Beyond the boardroom, we're looking for someone with an established business network and strong commercial credibility who can act as an ambassador for Allia, opening doors to strategic partnerships, investors and influential stakeholders. Whilst Allia's headquarters are in Cambridge, we'd be particularly interested in candidates with strong business networks across the Leeds and/or Nottingham business ecosystems. Candidates with deep connections across the Cambridge innovation ecosystem will also be considered.
This is a remunerated position, requiring a commitment of approximately 20 days per year, including quarterly Board meetings, strategic planning sessions and time to support the Group CEO and represent Allia with key stakeholders.
If you bring exceptional board leadership, commercial acumen, sound judgement and the influence to build strategic relationships, we'd welcome a confidential conversation.
