Recruiting For Caring Together

Chair of Trustees – Caring Together
Unpaid carers make extraordinary sacrifices every day to support those they love—often without recognition. Caring Together exists to change that. With a proud 40-year legacy, the charity supports over 150,000 carers across Cambridgeshire, Peterborough, and Norfolk through emotional support, practical help, and emergency care.
With our long-serving Chair, Stuart Evans stepping down next summer, Caring Together is seeking a successor to continue the outstanding leadership he has provided throughout his tenure.

The role
The Chair will provide strategic leadership to the Board of Trustees, ensuring effective governance, strong oversight, and alignment with the charity’s mission. Working closely with the Chief Executive and Executive Team, the Chair will help shape organisational priorities, hold leadership to account, and ensure financial sustainability.
The Chair will also act as an ambassador, building partnerships and representing Caring Together at key external events and forums.

What we’re looking for
We’re seeking an experienced leader with:

  • Board-level experience, ideally as Chair, Non-Executive, or Trustee.
  • Strong understanding of governance and strategic leadership.
  • A collaborative, supportive, and appropriately challenging approach.
  • Confidence and credibility in representing the charity publicly.
  • A genuine passion for improving the lives of unpaid carers.
Why join us?
This is a rewarding opportunity to shape the future for thousands of unpaid carers across the region. You’ll work alongside a skilled Board and Executive Team committed to growth, innovation, and real impact.
