We are proud and delighted to be the exclusive search partner in the appointment of two new Trustees to join the Board of highly respected East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA).

EAAA is a lifesaving charity for the Eastern Region. It exists to save lives by delivering highly skilled doctors and critical care paramedics, by air or car, to critically ill patients in the region. Together with its supporters, EAAA pushes the boundaries in pre-hospital emergency medical care to measurably improve patient outcomes.  

Over the next year, EAAA is seeking to appoint two Trustees to the Board to fill vacancies arising from forthcoming Board rotations.

Under the Chairmanship of Sarah Evans, the Board contributes appropriate independent oversight and constructive challenge to help guide EAAA to deliver its vision, purpose, values and strategic growth objectives. From these next two appointments, we are particularly seeking individuals that bring relevant experience of fundraising/marketing communications and HR/ People/ Culture to complement the skills and backgrounds of existing Trustees. As a collaborative and involved Board, we are seeking individuals who are genuinely interested in EAAA and are prepared to spend time outside of Board meetings getting to know the organisation, supporting the Executive and being involved in events and fundraising activities.

The Board of Trustees has overall responsibility to:

  • ensure that EAAA is carrying out its purposes for the public benefit
  • ensure that EAAA complies with its governing document and the law
  • act in the charity’s best interests
  • manage EAAA’s resources responsibly
  • act with reasonable care and skill
  • ensure that EAAA is accountable
As a member of the EAAA Trustee Board, you will:
  • make an active contribution to the success of the organisation by engaging in open debate, providing insights, questions, and appropriate challenge in a supportive manner
  • contribute different perspectives where relevant and anticipate situations that may impact EAAA
  • be a sounding board and confidant to provide independent and impartial counsel to the Chair, Chief Executive and the Executive team
  • monitor the charity’s performance in meeting agreed goals and objectives
  • be involved in the organisation to stay current and appraised of the developments in EAAA, its risk environment, and the applicable regulations within which it operates
The Board is outward looking and inclusive and is keen to ensure there are a mix of backgrounds, skills, experiences and approaches that reflect the patients and stakeholders.To add value to the Board discussions, experience is sought in the following areas:
  • A career within one of the following: Marketing Communications, with particular interest in those who have worked within fundraising; People Officer/HR Director in a complex organisation 
  • Experience operating at Board level with a knowledge of the role of a Trustee (or Non-Executive Director)
  • A connection or interest in the Eastern Region
It is anticipated that the time commitment will be a total of 10-12 days per year. The Board of Trustees are unpaid volunteers.
