Established in 1992, the Ormiston Families is the leading charity for children and young people in the East of England. The charity provides a diverse range of direct services to support children, young people and their families from disadvantaged communities, who face the dangers of social exclusion.
Following a highly successful period of growth and development, the current CEO at Ormiston Families had taken the decision to move on and had issued the organisation with three months notice. Pure were approached as the result of a referral from the partner of a local accountancy firm.
We worked with Ormiston Families to create a new recruitment process and to utilise all the avenues available to us to attract a high calibre and tailored shortlist of suitable candidates. As part of our proposal we ensured we had high quality documents and robust processes to recruit as efficiently as possible within a relatively tight timescale. This included:
- Rewriting of role duties and responsibilities
- Rewriting of personal specification
- Preparation of information packs for candidates
- Management of direct and internal applications
- Dedicated candidate email response and management
- Full progress report each week to all trustees
- Dedicated consultant presentation at every trustee meeting
Finding the right candidate
We used our own database as well as a range of traditional and internet based advertising, this included running an online branded advert with The Guardian and Charity Jobs. We pre-interviewed and undertook a range of assessments for the position to create a candidate shortlist. We developed a bespoke second interview process and assessment day resulting in three exceptional candidates going through to the final stage.
Representing such a truly amazing organisation was a pleasure and with such a good reputation and brand image locally we had a huge response from across the UK. It was one of the most rewarding recruitment processes I've been involved with.
